Our Mission

At Global Captive Consulting, we strive to facilitate seamless self-insured captive solutions. Our mission is to empower businesses by providing expert guidance in navigating complex insurance regulations and maximizing global opportunities.

Types Of Captives we can help with

Captive insurance companies can be categorized into several types, primarily based on ownership structure and purpose. The main types include single-parent captives (also known as pure captives), group captives, association captives, and agency captives. Additionally, there are special purpose captives, protected cell captives, and rental captives, among others.

Here's a breakdown of the common types:

  • Single-Parent Captives (Pure Captives):These are owned and controlled by a single parent company and insure the risks of that parent and its affiliates. They offer the most flexibility in terms of risk coverage and operational control.
  • Group Captives:.These are owned by a group of unrelated companies, often within the same industry, who pool their resources to form a captive. They can be homogeneous (companies in the same industry) or heterogeneous (companies from different industries).
  • Association Captives:These are owned by members of an industry trade association and insure the risks of those members.
  • Agency Captives:These are owned by insurance agents or brokers and participate in the underwriting of their business.
  • Special Purpose Captives:These are designed to handle specific, limited risks, often through reinsurance.
  • Protected Cell Captives:.These allow multiple entities to participate in a captive without commingling their assets, offering a way to share infrastructure while maintaining separation.
  • Rental Captives:.These are essentially a service that allows companies to participate in a captive without the need to form their own, by renting space in an existing captive.
  • Industrial Insured Captives:.These are group captives that focus on insuring companies within a specific industry.
  • Micro Captives:These are a specific type of captive with lower premium thresholds, often utilized by smaller entities.

Why Would Your Costs Be Lower?

Recapturing Previously Lost Dollars

•Premiums ultimately based on your loss experience

•Operating Costs are lower

•Enhanced loss prevention and claims management

•Underwriting profit and investment income is returned to shareholders

Stephen started his insurance career after emigrating to the United States 25 years ago. First by representing the country’s largest PEO (Professional Employer organization) AMS (Advanced Management Systems) as an independent underwriter and director of southern states overseeing day to day operations. This morphed into Dallas National Insurance Company and the start of Northeast Risk who acted as an MGA (Master General Agent). Later Workman’s Comp Inc was formed to better reflect the line of business where he truly had the most expertise. After multiple requests, a wholly owned subsidiary was formed to service his Clients that required Captive services. He added some of the industry’s top providers as part of the extensive Captive team, hence Global Captive Consulting. Steve has consulted on and designed many different Captives. He sits on a Captive board for a large American corporation and is a director and founder of an offshore Captive Cell facility in the Caymans.
